Featured Artist: LadyJane Shipley

I am Lady Jane Shipley, a name my great grandmother affectionately gave  me as a child. Born and raised in the central New York area, wanderlust overwhelmed me and I moved out to Seattle, Washington for a brief time then on to rural east Texas where I have for now settled down.
Art has always affected me even when I took a hiatus from actively creating. Coming back to creation really made me feel whole again and filled me with such an abundance of purpose and passion. The smooth glide of the paint, the smell of the different mediums, and the feeling that fills you when you step back and really embrace what you have created is intoxicating.
Watching my art evolve and grow is so exciting and even in the last handful of years I have grown by leaps and bounds. There are many artists that influence me and move me, many famous and so many more that are unknown to but a few. I love to see art influence other things like fashion and other parts of society. It gives me a sense of how with ONE project you can influence the world.

I'm not quite sure where I would put my own art as far as style...I love contrast and I use all different mediums. I enjoy the contrast of color, contrast of subject/objects and contrast of texture.

My favorite to do lately are my metallic pieces and my new line of modified animals. Being modified myself I really have a soft spot in my heart for the colorful modified animals I create. I offer my designs on plugs for stretched ears now also!

I do mostly custom creations and welcome orders of all sizes. The internet has really expanded the possibilities of up and coming artists like myself.

So go check out more of my work at facebook.com/CreationsOfJane and keep up to date with all my new projects and adventures by LIKEing and SHARING my page. I just started my own blog on Tumblr so look for LadyJaneShipley.tumblr.com - Much Love!
